Checked baggage

Our practical tips for preparing your hold baggage in the best possible way: authorized items, prohibited items and suggestions for protecting your personal belongings during transport.

Authorized subjects

The following items are allowed in your checked baggage:

  • Non-flammable toiletries
  • Completely switched-off electronic devices (cameras, computers, tablets, drones) with batteries ≤ 160 Wh
  • Firearms and imitations: firearms must be marked at check-in.
  • Tools and sharp objects
  • Tools and blunt objects
  • Liquids, aerosols and gels ≥ 100 ml

Items not permitted in the hold

The following items are not permitted in checked baggage:

 

  • Fragile items that may deteriorate
  • Money, jewelry, silver objects or valuables in general are not prohibited, but are strongly discouraged in checked baggage.
  • Samples or business documents
  • Motorized luggage
  • Gyropods, scooters and hoverboards
  • Explosive materials, ammunition, fireworks and flares
  • Flammable liquids, e.g. lighter refills, dyes, thinners or solid substances, matches
  • Compressed gases, corrosive materials, flammable liquids or solids
  • Oxidizing materials, e.g. oxygenating substances and peroxides
  • Corrosive materials such as mercury, acids, alkalis and automotive batteries
  • Toxic substances and pathogens
  • Radioactive materials, malodorous materials and other dangerous goods may not be brought on board.

Keep your precious, fragile objects and important documents with you in the cabin.
